New Super Mario Bros U will not be in 1080p
It seems as though Mario's Wii U debut will not be receiving the full HD upgrade we expected. Nintendo stated on their website yesterday, gamers would "experience Mario like never before in full 1080p HD"
However, Nintendo changed that claim by saying the game will simply be playable "in high definition"
New Super Mario Bros U has currently been demoed in 720p, but 1080p is definitely seems possible on the Wii U. The console was specifically designed to offer gamers a 1080p experience with downloadable sidescoller Toki Tori sporting full 1080p on launch day.
So g1s what do you think? Would you love to see Mario in full HD glory? or should we be more excited for the gameplay rather then the graphics? Let me know in the comments below!
It's not a big deal at all for me soo.....I'm just hoping it will be more different than NSMB2.
Your capslock intimidates me. I feel like I should go cry in a corner. Listen, Jets fan, this is the internet. If you can't accept that people have opinions, you should turn off your computer immediately. This is 2012, and I hate to pull out the PC card, but PC gamers have been gaming at 1080p for years. This is not to say that PCs are BETTER. They're just an alternate method of gaming. However, if after so many years, Nintendo still can't make their first-for-next-gen flagship title render in 1080p, then there's a serious problem, because we HAVE the technology, it is MORE than possible, and our standards as gamers should be higher.
If you think a mario game running in 720p is just fine, then good on ya. I'm just thinking, what's the point of buying the wii-u to play it when it would run just fine on a wii. It's like Twilight Princess all over again.
more interested in the gameplay experience than the graphics experience, though if I had the choice between getting a 720p version (or lower) and a 1080p version, I'd go for the 1080p version.
This doesn't really mean it's not in 1080p. This could just be Nintendo being vague for some random stupid marketing reason.
well I dont really care for this mario, so eh
YouTube is worse. That's all I'll say about this topic because any more detail will cause me to explode.
I'm not worried about it really. Although, I can't wait to see a new 3D Mario game in HD. Actually, I just wanna see a new Mario game that isn't in the New Super Mario Bros. series.......or a Super Mario 3D Land 2 or anything like that
Most PS3 games don't support 1080p, so meh. No biggie.
Oh whoopy-doo.....in all reality Mario games doesn't need god like graphics since....it's a friggin 2-D sidescroller game. As long as the gameplay is good, then it won't even bother the overall game.
play pokemon...and blaze blue...and the recent king of fighters...now that i think about it, sprites never went anywhere.
I don't go to Gt very often, for reason like that, but I went there 2 or 3 days ago and this story was posted there and , what you said, is going on there, so much hate for no reason
honestly, with the animation style of Mario U anyway, this is not a big deal, and if the Wii U is designed to bring 1080p, then trying to blame Nintendos Hardware development team for Team Marios failure is like blaming the family Vegan for eating your steak.
SOOO... when are sprites going to make a comeback?
I wouldn't immediately expect full HD (funny how 1080-720 will be the new SD in a couple years.) from Nintendo since it is their first jump into HD. And with a 2D Sidescroller, it would make almost no difference.
720p? Good enough for me.
That's the best thing about Nintendo games it doesn't need to be in 1080p to be eye candy
I can't even tell the difference between 720 and 1080 anyway, so no big loss for me.
Does Mario really need to be in HD? I fail to see how being in 1080p will change anything on how Mario games look and feel.
Sadly, I just know every Sony drone out there will try use this to their advantage when it comes to winning arguments.
I don't care. If the new trailer is any indication, the game already looks beautiful as is. And OF COURSE we should care more about the gameplay.
