The "Next-Box" finally confirmed by Microsoft
Microsoft finally confirmed there will be another Xbox, which may be code named "Durango", thanks to Windows Live general manager Brian Hall. He was quoted in an interview
Durango is rumored to ship with an integrated Kinect sensor, a Blu-Ray Drive, and may feature some new kind of technology that will not let you play used games.
Oops, wish I could delete entries ha.
You can't play used games? Fuck that shit. They're already the ONLY company that forces P2P Online, and now you have to buy EVERY SINGLE GAME used?
Don't get me wrong, I myself rarely buy games used, I much prefer new copies. The thing is, what if you don't like the game? Or, what if there is an awesome game that's discontinued and can only be found used? Then it's rendered completely useless, except to the person who bought it. Imagine the impact this would have on Pawn Shops!
That is, if this rumor is to be believed.
Hmm, guess that make sense; but the car had to be named after something... I don't know a thing about cars anyway .-.
Yeah, watching an episode of Pach-Attack! on GT explained how if Xbox did that their sales would TANK. Sony and Nintendo would allow used games to be played and get all the gaming sales. Pack-Attack! also explain how used games don't take that much of a dent in their profits. Sure it's a lose of revenue but not as much of a lose as they lead you to think. Basically they would so more money than they would make if they stop used games from being played.
It was kinda obvious. I mean, Xbox360 can't last forever
No used games eh, BOYCOTT!!!!!
NO NO NO. THIS IS NOT NEWS, THIS IS NOT TRUE.
Don't be like IGN and promote lies to the front page for clicks and views. Microsoft already stated that this was misinterpreted. There are a lot of new features coming to the Xbox. Go to IGN and look at the article they posted. It's exactly like yours, except it has an update with Microsoft's reply.
If this no used game bellshit is true I am more then likely not going to purchase one
If it can't play used game, I simply won't buy it.
And this is coming from a guy who owns over over 13 consoles and a TON of handhelds.
if thats true, i really cant see this selling well...or at all.
The way I see it.....no used games may just be a term for exclusive DLC. Instead of buying hard copies of your games.....you will buy them online.....only. Dumb regardless.
The new xbox, 720 (if that name will be) will have controversy if it goes with the tech to see if games will be used or not.
I'm calling bullshit on the no used games thing. I don't think that's gonna happen. I've heard people say Microsoft is going to do it, I've heard them say Sony is going to do it. I don't think either one will.
If publishers are so upset about losing revenue to used game sales, maybe they should stop charging $60 for every game they release.
That's the one way I might be able to see a system that wouldn't allow for used games to work, a compromise: the system can't play used games, but games can't be more than $40. I don't know for sure if that would work, but it's all I can come up with.
No used games? If that ends up being true... Oh my...
No. Sony is part of the Blu-ray Disc Association. It was a massive collaboration of technology between MIT, Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson (Now known as Technicolor), LG Electronics, Hitachi, Sharp, and Samsung. Currently, there are about some 60-70 companies in the BDA.
Even though we know a new Xbox is on the way, Microsoft contacted IGN with an update stating that the "New Xbox" is meant for the fall update and SmartGlass features. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/06/microsoft-references-new-xbox-for...
