Ninja Turtles reboot put on hold
Well guys, it looks like the Internet won. For now.
Paramount has shut down pre-production on the extremely controversal Ninja Turtles reboot. The movie, produced by ADD-filmmaker Michael Bay and set to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman, was originally scheduled for a December 2013 release but has now been pushed back to May 2014, sources say. Other sources however claim that the movie has been put on hold indefinitely. In any case, the reason for the delay is said to be the script.
Wow, the script has issues? Really? Well, I'd never.
The exact reason hasn't been given as of yet, but it's my guess that somebody accidentally read the script and noticed that it wasn't for the new Ninja Turtles movie at all, but actually the long-lost script for a Close Encounters of the Third Kind sequel. Some intern seems to have mixed up the covers.
This makes me so happy Bay might stop raping our childhoods now
You know what, just forget about it. I 'm not going to argue with an idiot who trolls half of the comments section on this damn site.
Well, the only thing worse than a brain dead frat boy is the kind of guy who paints other people he's never interacted with as braindead frat boys for liking something he doesn't.
And i never claimed the studios cared about me, which you'll notice by the fact that I don't go around decrying one of the most successful directors ever just cause I don't happen to like his stuff.
So, by "legions of devoted fans", do you mean the brain-dead frat boys and the other poor individuals that actually paid for Bay's piss poor excuses for "films". I didn't say that someone was forcing me to watch them, I just said that I wanted some good quality action movies in our everyday lives, like Marvel's "The Avengers", and I think studios don't give two shits about you either.
LEAVE IT TO DIE
You mean the one that this movie sounded exactly like? Yes.
And that is the biggest sign that reviewers are simply wrong, and are merely self indulgent. A reviewers whole purpose is to see a movie and give a recommendation for the common man. If the reviewers hate movies the common man likes, and like what the common man hates, what is the purpose behind the critic beyond being self indulgent and talking about their tastes and no-one elses?
See, you're mixing up what is subjective and what is objective. Your opinion of the movie? Thats subjective, thats just an opinion, and it is not right or wrong, its just an opinion. The box office numbers? Those are objective. Thats a fact. Its a fact that the last movie Bay made made a billion dollars. Its a fact that he's the fourth most successful director of all time. And its a fact that people obviously love the movies or he wouldn't have made a billion dollars.
When the last 3 films suck and the next was "under attack" and it hasn't even hit the theaters yet, thats when the producers need to look at someone else.
And before you list his box office numbers; reviewer, critics, and movie goers do NOT care or count how much the films made.
Did you ever watch the 2003 cartoon?
suck my big black ass michael bay!
Ok, you have to understand this about Michael Bay, he has the mind of a college frat boy. So when he makes a movie, the three things he puts in them are huge explosions, fast action, and hot girls. An example of a good Michael Bay film, Bad Boys 1 and 2. An example of a bad Michael Bay film, ones with a plot, characters, etc. In other words, all of his other movies.
Yes it does. No-one is forcing people to go and watch Bays movies. People go because they enjoy them hugely. He has legions of devoted fans. Because they love the quality of his work
See, you THINK his movies are of low quality. And considering how few people agree with you, studios don't give two shits about what you consider quality.
Needs less aliens and no Michael Bay
Absolutely, it wasn't the fact that he was making a movie about the turtles with a reboot to it of which caused so much outcry...it was the fact that he was changing the very core of what made TMNT...well, TMNT. He was changing their origin story so drastically, from mutants to aliens, that those who grew up with the heroes in a half-shell bellowed for the cease-and-decest.
Now if he had changed just how the turtles were mutated then there probably wouldn't have been so much backlash over it. For instance, if the ooze had come from aliens and the turtles came in contact with it, then there probably would have been a fan acceptance to that but Bay took it to the extreme of the turtles coming from space then coming to earth to defend it as ninjas.
Thank God they are going to change the script. Let's hope is deals with the origins of TMNT.
5. add some of the lamest and/or cliche dialogue ever
Finally some good news about this movie.
Batman's Hammers of Justice beat Bay!....sorry went for a Brave and the Bold feel for that comment
no one here cares if michael bay is 'successful'. this is tmnt this was somthn that has already been around and no true fan wants him to fuck it up like he does transformers where apparently massive amount of explosions equal good movie
tmnt had a big impact on a lot of people and there completely changing to have aliens not mutants.most people who really love tmnt hate how there change one of the main things its not the that bay is making it (ok a little bit) its the fact there changing such a big thing its like make all the xmen aliens
