Nintendo can’t decide on a new Zelda for 3DS

Again Nintendo disappoints me. Look, I am sure the fanboys will flame the shit out of me for this, but the 3DS deserves a proper Zelda title. I know Ocarina was a good remake and sold gangbusters on the platform, but that decision should have been an outlier. It makes sense that an homage to probably the best 3D Zelda game ever made would be developed in honor of the 25th anniversary. BUT now Miyamoto reveals to IGN that Nintendo is considering another remake…

"We haven't quite decided yet, whether we're going to do A Link to the Past, because there's also the possibility of doing a remake of Majora's Mask… This is something we've certainly been talking about and doing a little bit of experimenting with, to figure out which way we're going to go."

Wow. So you are on the fence between remaking a fairly niche sequel vs. a robust 2D incarnation, while ignoring the potential of actually making something new. Why Nintendo? If you are going to continue down this path of re-hashing classic franchises as an attempt to substitute creating a new installment for a new platform, I will… ummm… Complain on the Internet! grumble grumble grumble.
