While Nintendo recently announced they are in the process of adding DS games to the Wii U Virtual Console, Natsume Inc. has revealed more Game Boy Colors games will also be arriving soon on the 3DS. While GBC games have a higher priority right now, Nintendo is also currently preparing to include Game Boy Advance games to the service in the near future.

The announcement was revealed during a recent question and answer session by Natsume's community manager CeeCee. According to CeeCee, Nintendo has been working with other companies to add more Game Boy Color games to the Virtual Console.

“No, Nintendo does not put recent console games on the 3DS eShop, and sadly that means we cannot either. The same goes with GBA (outside of the ambassador games) — though they’re working on this and we look forward to the day it’s possible.
“Currently, we are working with Nintendo to re-release some more of our classic GBC games. When we have dates for future eShop re-releases (and we WILL be releasing more eShop titles), we’ll announce them on our social media first!”
