The Nintendo Download 09/05/14: Mega Man II, Mega Man III, and Wario Land 4

5/9/14 9:40pm

Another work week is nearing its end and you Nintendo fans of the g1 nation know what that means, it’s time for a rundown of all the new games that’ll be landing on the Wii U and 3DS eShop throughout the coming week!

After a jam-packed few weeks, things are beginning to be simmer down a little bit over on Nintendo's eShop, as there's not much to talk about in terms of "blockbuster" releases. However, there's still plenty of good stuff coming this week, such as a classic GBA platformer starring Mario's semi-evil doppelganger getting a re-release on Wii U, and the continuation of Mega May over on the 3DS storefront.

Wario Land 4

The selfish and piggish anti-hero Wario is back and he's about to smash his way through a huge 20-level pyramid in search of more treasures to get his greedy gloves on! There's just one small problem, the pyramid is cursed and filled to the brim with monsters. But in a stroke of luck, the stubby plumber(?) will have an array of new power-ups at his disposal that can transform him into the likes of Flaming Wario, Zombie Wario, and Vampire Wario, making his quest just a little bit easier.

This GBA classic is available right now on the Wii U Virtual Console for $7.99.

Mega Man II (Game Boy)

Speaking of the Virtual Console, Capcom's Mega May promotion continues over on the 3DS storefront, as a pair of classic Game Boy Mega Man games have finally been released after a waiting period that has eclipsed two years. The first of which is the direct sequel to Dr. Wily's Revenge. In this one, Dr. Wily and half of the Robot Masters from Mega Mans 2 and 3 (NES) return to try and take out "The Blue Bomber" once and for all.

The other Game Boy Mega Man game re-launching this week is...

Mega Man III (Game Boy)

In direct sequel to Mega Man II, Wily returns (again) with the remaining MM 3 Robot Masters, as well as half of Dr. Cossack's crew from Mega Man 4

Both of these hidden gems from the vintage grey brick are available right now on the 3DS Virtual Console for $2.99 a piece.

Grinsia

Unearth an ancient civilization and search for riches in this 16-bit era inspired RPG from Cave Story co-developer Nicalis. If you're up for collecting the treasure of the twin goddess who crafted the world...and saving said world, than you can grab the next airship to this adventure for a $10 fare via the 3DS eShop.

THE "DENPA" MEN 3 The Rise of Digitoll

Genius Sonority's colorful RPG is back for third quest, with even more bright creatures to capture with your 3DS camera. If you want to add more Denpa Men to your collection, you can download the game from the 3DS eShop for $9.99.

A free demo is also available if you'd prefer to try it before you buy it.

Gardening Mama 2: Forrest Friends (Demo)

Speaking of demos, a free sample of Mama's return to the garden is now available on the 3DS eShop. If you enjoy growing the game's fruits and veggies, perhaps you'd like to buy the full version for $29.99?

Parking Star 3D

Find the best parking spaces in the busiest and most crowded parking lots on the planet, in this leisure game from developer CIRCLE Entertainment. If your interested, just drive on through to the 3DS eShop window and pay up $2.99.

Jewel Match

This jewel-swapping, match-3 puzzler from developer Joindots has 150 unique puzzles and is available right now on the 3DS eShop and DSiWare Shop for $4.99/500 points.

Jewel Quest 4 Heritage

If that's not enough jewel-swapping for you, there's also this title from Engine Software, which is also available right now on both the 3DS eShop and DSiWare Shop. Although this one is a bit pricer, set at $7.99/800 points.

Sokomania 2: Cool Job

This puzzle game from CINEMAX is all about keeping warehouses fully stocked and fully organized. Fill the crates and put'em in the right place. If you're up to the task, fork(lift) over $1.99/200 points to the 3DS eShop or DSiWare Shop.

Now lets cap things off this week with a little PSA for two eShop sales:

The epic fantasy-infused and fan favorite action platformer/physics-based puzzler hybrid Trine 2, has been marked down on the Wii U eShop. From now until May 26, Wii U owners can download it for only $9.99!

And Atlus is hosting yet another sale on the 3DS eShop. From May 12-19, the critically acclaimed dungeon crawlers Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl and Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan will be marked down. Currently there's no word on just how cheap these games will be but if past sales are any indication, they will likely be given a $20 price cut.

So g1 nation, do you see anything you like on the eShop this week?
