Another week is coming to a close and you Nintendo fans know what that means, it’s time for another Nintendo Download round up!
And what a busy week it is, as both of Nintendo’s prime platforms have a slew of big name titles arriving on store shelves and their digital distribution channels, so let’s skip the formalities and dive right in shall we?
Kicking things off is a pair of games that will be available digitally on both platforms:
Sonic: Lost World
The Blue Blur is back in a brand-new adventure, which takes a few cues from the Mario Galaxy series, as well as the legendary lost Sonic game Sonic: X-treme, while at the same time sprinkling in the best of what the series has had to offer up to this point. Can “The Fastest Thing Alive” defeat The Deadly Six and return peace to The Lost World? European Sonic fans already know the answer but we here in North America will have to wait until October 29. The Wii U version will be available at retail and on its eShop for $49.99. The 3DS version will also be available digitally and at retail and its price is $39.99.
It should also be noted both versions have different content
Monster High: 13 Wishes
This action/adventure title from Game Machine is based on the Halloween special inspired by the popular Monster High line of dolls. It will be available both digitally and at retail outlets for both the Wii U and 3DS on October 29. The Wii U version’s price point is $39.99, while the 3DS version will cost $29.99.
Here’s what’s coming specifically to the Wii U eShop this week:
Batman: Arkham Origins
It’s finally here! The highly anticipated prequel to the Batman Arkham series is now available for the Wii U both digitally and at retail for $49.99. Did Warner Bros. Montreal live up to the gold standard set by Rocksteady? Here’s hoping.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
Another highly anticipated release is coming to the Wii U this week in the form of the fourth installment of the Assassin’s Creed series. This time players take on the role of pirate captain Edward Kenway as he pilfers and plunders treasure by day and assassinates the Templars by night. Black Flag will launch both digitally and at retail on October 29.
Pac-Man and The Ghostly Adventures
The Pac-Attack is back Jack! The legendary character returns in a brand-new 3D platformer based on his popular Disney XD animated series of the same name. This game features four-player co-op and a variety of wacky new power-ups to help rid Pac-World of the villainous Ghost Gang. The game will be available both digitally and at retail for $39.99.
This classic NES launch title is now available on the Wii U Virtual Console for $4.99. If you already have the Wii VC version you can update to the Wii U port for only $1.00.
The NES’ premier Pinball game has also been added to the Wii U’s VC library for $4.99 and it also supports the discount for those who have already bought it for the Wii.
And now, here’s what’s coming to the 3DS eShop:
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate
This Metroidvania style spin-off to Arkham Origins is now available at retail outlets and the 3DS eShop for $39.99.
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
Phoenix Wright finally makes his return to the courtroom in the fifth proper installment of the Ace Attorney franchise. This long-awaited sequel will see the return of old friends (and rivals), as well as a new sidekick and an intimidating new prosecutor. As a fan of the series, this is hands down the digital release I’m most excited for this week! Dual Destinies is available right now exclusively on the 3DS eShop for $29.99.
This NES classic shmup is now available on the 3DS Virtual Console for $4.99.
Jewel Master: Cradle of Egypt 2
Yet another “historical” mix and match puzzler from publisher Rising Star Games. The series’ return to ancient Egypt is now available for puzzle lovers to download from the 3DS eShop for $29.95.
My Little Baby 3D
Raylight’s parenting sim is now available on the 3DS eShop for $29.99.
Urban Trial Freestyle
Strangelands Ltd.’s stunt show racer is currently on sale for a discounted price of $4.99. If you’re interested, you better act fast because this offer ends on November 7.
Regular Show: Mordecai and Rigby in 8-Bit Land
This WayForward developed action/adventure title based on J. G. Quintel’s smash hit surrealist comedy Regular Show, will be available on the 3DS eShop and store shelves on October 29 for $29.95. Can slackers Mordecai and Rigby fight their way out of the video game world they’ve somehow been trapped in?
