Nintendo to release a less cuddly Pokemon 3DS XL model in Japan

Back in the summer, Nintendo released a special edition Pikachu 3DS XL model in Japan and it was adorable and also a marketing success. A success Nintendo is hoping to duplicate with a second Pokemon themed 3DS XL model and this time, another popular (and far less cute) first generation Pokemon will be getting its due.
This sleek black model will sport a wicked golden Charizard on the front with a blazing red flame on the back.

The Charizard 3DS XL model will launch in Japan in time for Christmas on December 15.
Edit: Unfortunately, it's not only a Japanese exclusive but an exclusive to Pokemon Center stores and only available to those who send in order forms in an effort to win the chance to buy them. So collector's should expect importation to very tricky/expensive, if it's even possible.
That is unless Nintendo decides to eventually launch a wider release.

If this 3DS XL comes to America I will defiantly get a 3DS XL. If not I will settle for a normal black 3DS.

Woah, I must say I haven't really been into Pokemon for quite some time now (ofcourse there will always be a part of me that loves it), but that is a heck of a nice 3DS. Would love to get my hands on one of those damn. xO

Actually, you won't be able to import this. In order to even have a chance at buying this you have to head to the Pokemon store at hamamatsucho station and enter a raffle. Me and my girlfriend plan on going next week to enter our names. The Pikachu ones were sold out before they even made it to hamamatsucho station.

Actually, you might be able to. Taken from serebii homepage: "It is then available to purchase from December 15th until January 14th if successful and will cost 18,900¥."

I'm afraid that page is wrong. I live in Japan and my girlfriend, who is Japanese, translated the promotion. You have to enter a raffle for a any chance at buying this 3DS. Kotaku is also reporting the same thing. If you win the raffle, then you can buy the DS. Which is why I'm hoping I can put my name in about 3000 times.
