Notice to those pre-ordering Borderlands 2
A few nights ago, I was watching Deevosee's stream of Borderlands over at Twitch and had some information in the chat from fellow Twitch user Hazardousmetal that said Gearbox wasn't being up front with to those who pre-ordered the game.
Anyway, he said that one of the pre-order bonuses is a Golden Key that opens up a special golden chest in Sanctuary. The thing about this key is that it is a one time use key. Once you use it to open & get whatever item is in the chest, it's used up permanently & you won't be able to get it back.
He said that since the weapons don't scale as you level up, using the key early in the game wouldn't be a wise move. In order to make it worth it, it's best to wait until you're at the end of your second playthrough. Using the key then will get you the best equipment.
Another thing Hazardousmetal said is if you want to boost your chances of getting something even better, it's best to open it with 3 other friends in the game to maximize the chance of rare loot.
I'm not sure if this info has since become widely known, but I wanted to make sure my fellow g1s knew about it before those who pre-ordered it start playing the game & unknowingly use up that key early in the game. Thoughts?

Another Heads Up... looks like Gearbox pulled a Last minute Switcharoo and removed the code for the Borderlands Comic from the Ultimate Loot Chest.

Gearbox actually discussed golden keys months ago, and said they were consumable, so his fault for being an idiot tbh.

Gearbox did release a notice on the borderlands 2 forums and site explaining the Golden Keys and how to use them..Just a heads up..

Cheers, thanks for the heads up. Might even try and wait till after all the DLC because they'll obviously raise the level cap.

TBH though it is a news game it still belongs somehow into the borderlands universe so that something scales with level and gets better with friend shouldn't be something new.
The one times use only might have not be clear but what else did you expect? A golden infinite key to always get the best loot out of the chest each time you start the game so that every other loot is for nothing?
