OnLive is coming to Ouya and there is a controller
Ouya has basically destroyed Kickstarter, garnering over 500% more in pledge dollars than was needed to even get the project rolling. Now the project is getting a huge boost to their rep as the Cloud-based gaming platform OnLive has agreed to add their service to the Android console. OnLive general manager Bruce Grove has revealed the following on the OnLive website.
This means that in addition to the console delivering the Android market, backers will get access to hundreds of current generation games from 80 publishers, instant demos, and with a subscription, the ability to play on your PC, MAC, and tablet. The Ouya Kickstarter page also uploaded a picture of the new controller, which is still a work in progress. And they released the power on sound effect last week. Anyone biting?

So, the controller is the equivalent of the Xbox and PS3 controllers making love?
For the price, I'm interested now it comes down to the games and other features if its a day one buy.
This thing is something I will be definitely picking up when it releases. I'm sure it will get more support leading up to release, and with the promise of it being hackable out of the box, so many possibilities will be available for it. I've rooted my phone and Nexus 7, but with this, it'll be so much better since it will have so many things going for it. And only $100? I'm in.
Looks like this thing is really gonna happen. I bet it'll probably do pretty good. I'm at least interested in watching where this goes now.
When did they say it provided access to the Android marketplace? All I see is them saying it runs Android 4.0, and "any app developer could publish their Android app to OUYA." That leads me to believe that app developers can easily port their Android apps to OUYA, but it won't provide access to the existing marketplace. If it did, why would app developers still have to publish them to OUYA as well?
The more I hear about Ouya, the more interested I get. The first into a new market is almost never perfect, but for 100 bucks I'm really tempted to explore this.
The start up sound is kind of lackluster. Doesn't leave the same mark the Gamecube, PS1, 360, N64, etc sounds leave. Not that it's important at all. Personally I think it'd be cooler if it was just the sound at the beginning, without the "Ouya!". Also, Ouya is a dumb name. No dumber than Wii, I suppose, but there ya go. Finally, the controller looks stupid. I suppose it looks functional and it doesn't look uncomfortable, but... I dunno. The grips look too long, they seem out of place, perhaps even a little intrusive.
That said, it's an intriguing device and I plan on keeping an eye on it, but I'm not sold yet. Something about the whole thing rubs me the wrong way.
I bet this has the executive teams at Sony & Microsoft very concerned.....
Now We Know We Were Pronouncing It Right.
Hmm... Interesting, but the controller looks like a boomerang.
Considering jizzing on my Ouya if I manage to get one.
i gonna buy one
Dang. This Ouya thing is going to be a big deal.
