Ouya developers change the controller because developers asked
The Ouya, the upcoming Kickstarter-funded, Android-based console, had a funky controller.
The developers who tried it cited several problems, and the developers responded by making changes to address them.
For instance, that disc-shaped direction pad was replaced with a more traditional cross shape.
Here are the other changes they made:
- The thumbsticks have rubberized tops.
- The touch pad is more responsive.
- The triggers were redesigned to be more flush with the controller, and the design and mechanics have been improved.
- The battery bay was redesigned to be more "snug."
It's pretty nice to hear a console developer be so open with its R&D, especially for something as fundamental as the controller. So are any of you g1s excited with these changes or the console in general? Let us know in the comments below!
