As I'm sure you've already read, the unprecedented act of multiplayer solidarity and overnight gaming community phenomenon, Twitch Plays Pokemon finally reached its epic conclusion this morning, as thousands of players guided Red to the Indigo League Hall of Fame. Suck it Blue! Praise the Helix!

In celebration of this landmark occasion, the folks at Twitch TV's HQ have compiled a list of the final gameplay statistics of this grand adventure and to be perfectly honest, they're pretty damned incredible!

For instance, over 1 million players united to take control of Red during the course of the reported 16 day-long stream, with a grand total of over 122 million commands being issued via the chat. The event also managed to draw over 36 million views, Holy Pidgeotto! Even when you factor in the returning viewers, that's quite the accomplishment.

Here's the full stat list:

  • The unfolding of the Story: 16 days, 7 hours, 45 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Pokémasters who mashed their keyboards: 1,165,140
  • Commands issued: 122+ million
  • Peak Pokémasters watching: 121,000
  • Onlookers: 9+ million
  • Total views: 36+ million
  • Minutes watched: 1+ billion

Well, it's been quite the journey Pokemon masters but now you must rest up, for tomorrow is a whole new day, with whole new challenges.

If you're looking for something to do in the meantime, maybe you can take a look at this petition to recognize March 1 as National Helix Day?
