Penny Arcade's Precipice of Darkness saga concludes next month

6/2/12 12:00pm

After three years and a change in the development team, Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3  finally has a concrete release date!

The Penny Arcade written and Zeboyed Games (of Cthulhu Saves the World fame) developed 16-bit RPG will serve as the "dramatic" conclusion to the Precipice of Darkness saga, which was originally developed by Hothead Studios.

Zeboyed announced yesterday that part 3 will be released on both Steam and Xbox Live Indie Games for $5/400 MS Points on July 10.

Mac and mobile versions of the game are also in development but they won't likely be coming until sometime after the release of the PC and 360 versions. Oh and it should be said that the eventual Mac version will be cross-platform compatible with the PC version, which is pretty cool beans!

As a fan of classic RPGs, I'm gonna have to give this one a download.

But first ... I'm going to download the first two installments. *Cough.* Yeah, I know I should've played them sooner but better late than never I suppose.

While I'm disappointed at the lack of the Penny Arcade art style, at least the last game is going to be released. Zeboyd Games will surely not disappoint.

Honestly I am not happy about the art direction for this game. I wish they kept the old art style. This isn't because I like good graphics (not that I don't), but because I think that games in a series should keep the same art style for the entire series (or at least get better).

Well, Im kinda disappointed in the art style. First two games had great visual style in both 2D and 3D, This one... well, I love me some good sprites but not in this case.

I approve of this

There is no better indie studio than Zeboyed Games to handle such a task.
