PETA attacks Assassin's Creed IV for... Whaling!?!
I... think the title speaks for itsel-no, you know what? It's best you see the beauty of hypocrisy that is PETA in action.
Well another year, another controversial attack on video games by the hypocritical animal murderers known as the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals or PETA. This time, PETA has set its sight on Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for the depiction on whaling in the game (which I'd like to point out how little we know about how prominent this mechanic is in the game or how graphic or tame it will be since, you know, the game was just announced), as said by PETA:
Funny how I've heard absolutely nothing about them condemning the constant dolphin hunts that happens in Japan or any whaling that happens near said island of a country's seas, yet they just so happened to speak up about whaling in one of the most popular series of this generation's announcement trailer which, if the trailer's views on YouTube are any indication, has been seen by a wide audience. We folks over here in Canada like to call that a "publicity stunt", eh?

There be whales here! PETA's response: NOT IF YOU KILL THEM ALL! You're despicable.
Now, if I may continue being the shameless plug that I am, I'd like to draw your attention to the last time PETA attacked a video game series and my own subsequent, mature reaction to PETA's attack on the Pokémon series on Thanksgiving:
Classy response, I know. As you can tell, I'm not the biggest fan of PETA, though I do support animal rights. I am against animal abuse, I own a dog, and I would like to draw your attention to other groups like the WWF, who aren't hypocrites (for one) and actually are a cause worth supporting that doesn't condemn any video game that depicts animals being injured in any way. It's obvious that PETA is doing this as an attempt at getting attention towards their so-called "cause". Since I'm writing this late at night before resting up and suffering through another round at Mirror of Fate, it seems that PETA got your attention and mine.
So if that's the case, then allow me to draw your attention to this, this is one of the games that PETA attacked and parodied by doing the following:

I think that sums it all up. G'night everybody!

I understand that they may overreact to things like this, and I do agree they overreacted, but I honestly don't think people should be so quick to hate and condemn PETA; they are always shown in such a bad light so people automatically think them as synonymous with greed and evil. Even if the heads of the organization weren't doing it for the cause they were founded on, it still isn't right to stereotype everyone who joins, those who wholeheartedly want to make a difference, as greedy hypocritical idiots. There is a difference between criticism and hate-fueled harassment; I really had better expectations of the g1 community.

Maybe people do join PETA to help animals, but the fact is that PETA isn't an organization to help animals (they have killed many animals in order to 'help' them), but is actually a cult, using the idea of helping all animals to further their cause. People will probably be able to understand that and will go another route, or fall victim to their brain washing.
Think of it like this: Individuals may be good, but if they are tricked to help false good or choose to do so, the individuals are not being good.
Disclaimer: I am for animal rights, just against hypocritical cults who pretend to do good, while doing bad, and use unrelated things (in this case video games) to further their agenda.

by your statement, PeTA had helped animals before, right? RIGHT?
of course not since they killed more animals than helping them (look it up).

You are talking about PETA as a single entity, as opposed to the various peoples that form it. I would bet you that a large portion of the organization DOES spend its time wholeheartedly helping animals, even if others would view them as radical. Not to mention people need to learn to take any news or media with a grain of salt, as anyone who would "look up" information about PETA would find mostly biased stories and reports. I'm not defending them, I just wish people were more open-minded and civil.

I AM talking about peta since they kill animals because they feel "we make them rest in peace rather than being alive" or something along those lines. peta do harm to animals more than help them.

At this point, it's abundantly clear that PETA just wants attention and nothing else. They don't even care that it's bad attention; it just gets their name in the news, which in turn brings in new members. Eventually they'll shut up and disappear once people stop paying attention to them.

If there's one thing that these scpecial interest groups don't get, it's that they can't think far ahead or far back.
This was meant to be historically accurate (Which, yes, meant whaling was still condoned). This wasn't meant as a political statement. Seriously, can't we find a way to DDoS Peta's website and donation portals?

I wish i could go back to my high school years, there was a PETA member there i would tell her hoe stupid she is
