Peter Molyneux ain't sold on the Wii U
The Wii U has been the centerpiece of Nintendo's E3 presentation this year, but developer Peter Molyneux isn't exactly sold on the new way of gaming.
Molyneux says the system's use of the tablet gamepad could prove to be confusing to some players.
"I also feel that monitoring both screens turns out to be a bit demanding, as some games make it necessary to change your view from time to time between both screens."
It's a small but crucial difference to Microsoft's SmartGlass app which also allows tablets and smartphones to be used in gameplay, though rather as an additional screen for the Xbox instead of a touch-screen gamepad.
I have to say, while I'm definitely intrigued by both tablet-like additions, Molyneux's concern is one I've also held since seeing the Wii U demos. What about you, g1's? Bring on the battle of the tablets!

Molyneux has been a little coco lately. It's best not to take him too seriously.

Pft, what? The tablet is going to be like an inventory screen or a secondary screen used for "scanning" and such. Are you telling me Peter thinks people can't tell the difference from what's going on in real time vs an inventory screen?! Who has he interviewed to come to this conclusion anyway?

Bare in mind... This is the same guy who thought Fable 3's Sanctuary was a good idea...

If anyone has played The World Ends With You, I think you have an idea of what the Wii U could be like

Don't they both have you looking at the tv and the tablet? Kind of a hypocrite note from a Microsoft guy.
Caswaltz
He doesn't work for them anymore. Not directly anyway.

Well I love the dual screen, nothing worse for breaking flow of combat to pause and go menu scrawling, love the idea of cramming shells into my shotgun on the tablet while the monster is attacking me still on the tv

I'm not quite sold on what he has to say. Haven't been for quite a few years, in fact. It's been hard to take him serisouly.
