Pier Solar is going HD if you kelp Kickstart it
Want an awesome 16-bit style RPG on your Xbox 360, PC, Dreamcast ?
Pledge on Kickstarter !
Pier Solar and the Great Architects is a fully original epic 16-bit RPG made for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis and was released in December 2010. It was made by WaterMelon which is a small indie developer.
This project was impressive to say the least. It would be the first original game that would be released on the Mega Drive/Genesis since a decade. It used a 64 MB cartridge, which today is nothing, but remember that that's a Sega Mega Drive/Genesis cartridge. That's HUGE ! Another unique feature is the sound quality. Although it is perfectly playable with just a standard Mega Drive/Genesis if you have a Sega CD you could use the CD that came with the game to upgrade the sound & music . An impressive undertaking and great achievement for them to say the least.
WaterMelon has now decided to get Pier Solar in the hands of more gamers by using Kickstarter to get an HD version made of the game for Xbox 360 / PC / Linux / Mac and even the Sega Dreamcast (Dreamcast version will use the new HD artwork but naturally it will be scaled down to what the Dreamcast can handle) This means you can get your hands on this epic RPG for just $15 for Xbox 360. If that's not a deal I don't know what is.
So anybody who enjoyed the great old 16-bit RPG's should consider pledging some cash to help these guys out and get yourself an awesome RPG.

Dayum, only a day and it's already a third of the way funded. If I had a credit card I'd fund. I already have the 1st print run of the Gen/megadrive version, but I'll pick up a Dreamcast version for them Remastered graphics, and maybe even a 360 copy down the line since those can't sell out, and I'd like to support these guys. Shit I had no idea the OST sold out on their website already, should've jumped on that, but forgot T__T

I'm getting the Xbox version with this Kickstarter myself, a friend of mine had the Mega Drive version but thanks to the great tax laws here in Belgium instead of 68 USD and some taxes in the end he payed for about 160 USD ..... And that's why i did not get it myself because that's a wee bit to much for me.
Cant' tax me for a digital product so that I will be able to afford :)

If any 16-bit game deserves an HD port, it's this one.
