Porn company, Brazzers, to support the Fighting Game Community

4/3/12 8:00am
tl;dr

Porn company Brazzers will sponsor fighting game players and possibly throw fighting game event.

Editor's Note: This story has since been updated and I have included the video below if you want to see how this conversation went down. Also, based on recent events is this a good thing or bad thing for the fighting game community?

Update: LI Joe did state that there is nothing official regarding his sponsorship as of yet. He explained that Steele wants to create a Brazzers' team that LI Joe would be captain of, but nothing has been put in place yet for that.

Joe "LI Joe" Ciaramelli, a fighting game veteran, will soon be bringing together the fighting game community and the porn industry in an unprecedented way. In recent months Joe had stated how he wanted to have Brazzers - a porn production company specializing in online video - as his sponsor. Today, in a special stream on his Twitch channel, Joe spoke with Rob Steele, Brazzers' Director of Special Events, with Steele announcing that Brazzers will begin sponsoring LI Joe at events and supporting the fighting game community by hosting events.

While no specifics where given on when and where such an event will take place, it appears that Brazzers will be hosting its own fighting game event sometime in the future as well as possibly sponsoring more players. Hopefully, we'll hear more specifics in the future from Brazzers regarding their support of the fighting game community as I'm sure many fans of fighting games and porn are incredibly excited for the future of this collaboration.

I don't see the problem here. Whoever or whatever type of industry whether it brings good publicity and/or bad publicity (which any publicity is always good publicity) is always good and gets the gaming industry and art form of games more noticeable and have the right to do so.

Porn is taken very seriously and everybody watches porn at some point and gets a kick out of it even by the most seemingly normal of people, per se.

I think this is a good thing, and nobody should directly relate games to porn....that's just plain silly.

If you listen to the guy on the stream he explains how things are going to be at events, nothing is really going to change at all...no naked women and porn, FGC controls everything.

'nuff said.

You know, that whole"Fighting Games Always Have Sexual Harassment" is starting to look real plausible right now...

Oh dear. This just makes all gamers look like perverted sex deviants who play games and whack off all day. Video games becoming a world recognised art form? One step foward. Some douche using a porn producition company to sponsor him and host video game tournaments? Two steps back. Gratz LI Joe .
