Prey 2 mysterious countdown site is not managed by Bethesda
We previously reported on a mystery site that was counting down details about Prey 2. If you look at the page, the logo is prominently displayed at the top, with the publisher/developer logos popping up at the bottom. Between these clearly displayed logos and a source code message that reads, "Tommy needs your help with a stranded human who wants to go home." I’m pretty much onboard, but Bethesda is not.
When asked by Joystiq what this teaser site is all about and whether or not it is in fact leading to some new announcements regarding Prey 2, the Bethesda spokesperson seemed unclear as to the legitimacy of the entire site.
Spooookkkkyyyy… A teaser site for a game that may or may not exist and is not being run by the publisher. Is this a crazy fan? Or maybe the developer trying to go over Bethesda’s head? We don’t have the answers yet, but hopefully we’ll find out soon enough. I just hope Prey 2 becomes a reality, because that demo from Quakecon in 2011 still gives me a boner.
