We're just one week away from Spike TV's annual Video Game Awards and the hype machine is in full swing with the promise of many exclusive trailers game reveals. 

A teaser for once such reveal, the PS3 exclusive The Last of Us popped up on Gametrailers last night with the simple tag line of "You Won't Believe."

The disturbing teaser features an audio clip of a lonely narrator pleading for regular peaceful life, being played over stock footage of real life riots and tragedies. This could possibly be the most moving teaser since the now infamous Dead Island trailer that debuted last spring, or emotionally manipulative depending on your point of view. 

Kenshiro3 posted an interesting theory about how The Last of Us is actually a code name for Resident Evil 6. While that could be a possibility (even if it is a small one), I don't think Capcom is willing to take the series back to its Sony exclusive roots just yet. 

But regardless, it looks like gamers are in for yet another struggle through a bleak, post-apocalyptic future. The Last of Us  is definitely shaping up to be one of the most intriguing reveals of the VGAs. Hopefully then we'll get to see some gameplay, or at the very least a cutscene.
