[PSA] ScrewAttack dominated October with updates to the site!

Posted on November 1, 2012 - 4:02pm by Sean Hinz

What’s up g1s? Still in a sugar induced coma from Halloween I see. Well let me breakdown all the crazy improvements that came to ScrewAttack in the month of October. Hold on to something, because this is going to be intense!

October Improvements:

  • Notifications are currently running on the site. Can I get a hell yeah?!
  • We’ve changed the way the g1 flags work and users should see those flags in action.
  • Updated all of the code behind View and Comment counters on the top page.
  • Re-enabled the Homepage Tabs system.
  • Updated the g1 Videos feed at bottom of site.
  • We fixed a little bug that was making Twitter go crazy on the site.
  • Various changes to the site code helping pages load much quicker for logged and non-logged in users alike.

Don’t forget if you are experiencing any sort of compatibility issues, feel free to submit those to tips@screwattack.com. Details like operating system, browser, version, and screenshots help us track those issues down.

November Improvements:

We will still be working on the Poll bug for November, as it has been a fairly elusive bastard. Beyond that we are working to improve some tools we’re using in the Advantage system and continuing to improve the user experience on the site. Of course we owe a lot to Zillas for working so diligently and we will keep you informed of more improvements. If you have any questions or concerns about something freaking out on the site, please use tips@screwattack.com or tweet at @ScrewAttack or @SeanHinz.

Lastly, I’ve added a button to the blog tools that will allow you to see paragraph blocks. Still working on getting a module to allow you to embed videos more easily, but you can always click source and paste the embed code directly into the HTML. Check back tomorrow as I should have some updates for all you Kickstarter backers as well. Thanks g1s!
