Remember StarCraft: Ghost?!

StarCraft: Ghost is one of those projects that was never officially canceled, despite that unofficially being the case. The project was meant to introduce a new demographic to the StarCraft universe, featuring a female protagonist in this stealth-action hybrid. It was even going to bring a new perspective to the battlefield, but kept being delayed, over and over. In an interview with StarCraft II lead designer Dustin Browder, it might be time to let go.

“There are no plans. I'm not saying we won't ever, but I'll tell you what I do know: There are no meetings going on. There is no team. No one talks about doing it.”

Rough. I suppose managing a giant MMO, creating a Real Money Auction House, and kick starting a revitalization of the eSports genre are all good reasons for being too busy for another third person action game. No matter how cool the setting may be. I wonder if they would ever consider remaking Blackthorne? Now that was one tripped out Blizzard game from the mid 90’s that deserves an update.
