Robert Bowling quits Infinity Ward

3/27/12 12:00pm

The Creative Strategist and former Community Manager announced via Twitter that he is no longer working for Infinity Ward and Activision with many people speculating it was because of the fan back lash regarding Modern Warfare 3. Bowling did not say way he left but it's assumed that some Call of Duty Fanboys will be happy that he is gone.

There is still no word of his replacement but I think that person sure has a long road ahead of them. Many people are speculating that he will go to Respawn Entertainment where most of his former employees are, but that is not confirmed. In any case I think I may be the only person who thinks that this was a good step for him and I hope the best for his future career

Pretty big loss for Activision and wouldn't be surprised if EA does get him to work for Respawn Entertainment.

I am a fan of Call of Duty and I am upset that Bowling is leaving.

From a community view, 402 has done a lot for building the COD community into what it is today. He really was a big pusher for interaction between the COD community that developed on Youtube and despite what all the bitches and moaners say, we really owe a lot to him. I am going to miss him and I wish him nothing but the best in whatever he does.

I approve of this

When one door closes, another opens. He was such a bit part of Infinity Ward and I know his talents will be a huge win with whatever he decides to do next.

Fun Fact: he is my first follower on Twitter.

I will join you in wishing him the best of luck. I have always felt @fourzerotwo did a great job in his role and was good for the brand. I look forward to seeing where he ends up.
