Remember when we got the rumor about this song/pack, and it was neither confirmed nor denied? And then we got a Rush pack a few weeks later? And then it was almost confirmed in the Harmonix live stream? Well, now we got it!

Rush's epic song 2112 will find its way into the Rock Band huge library this year (at least for some people) in a way, that will leave most people happy. Let's check it out.

Available on Xbox 360, December 31st, 2011; Wii and PS3, January 3rd, 2012 (Euro PS3, January 18th)

  • Rush – “2112: Overture, The Temple of Syrinx” X
  • Rush – “2112: Discovery, Presentation” X

Let's say something more about the pack. Each individual song contains more than one part of the song, if you like it, then it shouldn't be a problem because you'll play full, but if you played it in GH:WoR it can be a little issue since there it's completely separated, but would have meant a higher price for the pack. Moving on...

The normal pack will be available for all three consoles as usual, but if you buy it on the Xbox 360 or the PS3, besides the 3 mini packs, you will get the 20 minute medley of the full song FOR FREE! Plus you will get the Pro Upgrades for the 3 mini packs and the super pack FOR FREE!

There's no Rock Band Network releases this week because of the Holidays, so your indie music desires will have to wait.

Well, this was nice surprise, we already knew that this song was coming, but what we didn't know was the date. I do think though that this could have come in the same week as the previous pack of Rush, but I can't blame Harmonix because they need to make the songs last, since they became independent. And probably this was ready then and now they used it to have some days off for the Holidays...
