Rockband iOS message was sent out in error says EA

5/4/12 8:00pm

Remember the post Sean made about the possibility that people who bought Rockband on an iOS device received a message saying they couldn't play the game after May 31st? Turns out that was sent out by error with EA saying

"Rock Band for iOS will remain live - the in-app message users received yesterday was sent in error. We apologize for the confusion this caused. We're working to clarify the issue that caused the error and will share additional information as soon as possible"

At least EA came out and apologized for this mistake. However it makes me wonder who at EA wanted to be a dick and scare the hell outta gamers. Are g1s happy for those that play Rockband iOS and the game is still available?

What I think they meant to say was "Some future jobless employee had sent this message out as a joke and when we find out who we will provide name and photo Id." XD

So why would such a message exist if it wasn't intentional?

EA was just testing the waters to see if they could get away with this, I'll bet.
