Rockstar reveals delay with official GTA V release date

It looks as though fans that are eagerly waiting to jump into Rockstar’s latest installment to the Grand Theft Auto series will have to wait longer then expected, as the publisher/developer announced that GTA V will hit store shelves September 12 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
While any fans are upset about the four-month delay, Rockstar made sure to address that concern by saying that the series’ latest installment is “massively ambitious” and that the team needs more time to polish the game…
“We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time. GTAV is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require.”

Four months. I don't care if it's a year from now. I just don't want to experience the same horror again that was the PC port of GTA4.

Although this is disappointing, I would defiantly rather wait a few more months for a perfect game rather then a buggy broken game.

bigger than gta 4, rdr, and gta san andreas combined, with tons of more stuff to do. take as much time as possible

well I couldn't be too mad considering I probably cant buy the game in the first place due to funds. But I really hope this isn't going to be the start of something terrible

I think anyone who thought the previous date was real is either inexperienced or overly optimistic. This is the Rockstar way. September sounds about right.

I'm not mad i knew GTA 5 is eventually gonna delayed and i'm right. though damnn September? i don't want wait a whole Spring and Summer for this.

When Rockstar announces a delay, it's basically saying "we're going to make the Metacritic score go from 85 to 93 in a few months, so don't worry about it." And I mean that in the best way.
