Rockstar reveals GTA V sceenshots and possibly teases a new Red Dead Redemption

During a recent Asked and Answereds session on their official blog, the folks at Rockstar Games revealed why we haven’t seen or heard much about Grand Theft Auto V and discussed the possibility of a sequel to Red Dead Redemption.

Let’s get GTA V out of the way first, shall we?

When answering questions regarding what’s been going on with the development of GTA V and why we haven’t really seen any of it since it was announced, Rockstar said while development is going well, it’s a long process (especially with a project this huge) and because of that, it’s best if there are longer gaps between the release of assets/information.

“We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans' 'don’t respect our fans’ 'hate GTA fans etc' – precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it. The only things we care about are that you enjoy the experience of actually playing the game and that we release accurate information. We just have not been in a position to show more of the game than the trailer and will not be for a while yet."

Despite not being able to give out any new information about the game, Rockstar decided to give curious fans a bit of glimpse of what the game will look like with these two images:

Speaking of Rockstar sequels, there was also a question regarding the possibility of a second installment of Red Dead Redemption. Rockstar simply answered with the following:

“As we mentioned in our last set of Asked & Answereds to similar questions about the future of other game franchises like Bully and L.A. Noire, we don’t always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won’t get to them eventually. Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series.”

Hmmm. Could this be a hint about an upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 announcement? Or could another DLC expansion for the original be in the cards? Either way, I’m sure plenty of the studio’s fans will be more than happy to see John Marston (or maybe a new protagonist) tare up the Wild West once again.
