Ron Gilbert leaves Double Fine
Ron Gilbert has left Double Fine, taking a piece of my heart with him.
The Secret of Monkey Island creator has announced that he's leaving Double Fine, the company he helped contribute to with legendary awesome dude Tim Schafer for many years. The man is responsible for some of the greatest adventure games ever created, like Maniac Mansion, Day of the Tentacle, the Monkey Island series and a ton of popular children point and click games like Freddi Fish and Putt-Putt.
The good news is that he leaves on good terms. Schafer left him a supportive tweet to continue being awesome and thanking him for helping make The Cave, Double Fine's most recent release. So at least this wasn't a violent divorce where you had to choose between the two coolest dads in the universe that both bought you new cars.
Whatever Gilbert plans on doing next, I wish him all the luck and hope its related to adventure games and wackiness, because he's really good at those two things. In tribute!
Oh, and you didn't hear this from me, but I hear his mother fights like a cow.

My God... Freddie Fish and Putt-Putt! Such nostalgia. Really sucks that he is leaving! :( Hope he does well in whatever he pursues next though.

This comes off as a fear for me. Weren't they working on that kickstarter funded adventure game...? Bad signs of things to come?

I wouldn't worry. I imagine Ron already did his part for the project.
