[Rumor] Assassin’s Creed III’s PC version could be delayed

6/23/12 11:40pm

The PC version of Assassin’s Creed III was speculated to launch on October 30 alongside the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions but it appears this version might be delayed by nearly a month. Well, that’s if a recently dug up piece of European promotional art is to be believed.

Here’s the “promo art” that was given to the folks over at Eurogamer by one of their fans from the Czech Republic:

It certainly looks like it could be legit.

If this European release date of November 23 is correct, that would mean the North American launch for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed III would likely be November 20.

Ubisoft is currently refusing to comment on the situation or at least, that’s what Ubisoft told Joystiq. However, the studio told Eurogamer that the release date has yet to be announced. That’s kinda weird. You’d think the responses would be a bit more similar. Oh well.

We’ll be sure to give you g1s a concrete release date when it becomes available.

Of course it's going to be delayed. They have to figure out what DRM scheme to put in that's going to piss of PC players enough to go to the console release instead.

DRM is pretty dumb. Someone, somewhere, will eventually figure out how to bypass it in a couple of days. *shrugs*

I came back from the dead just to say that I agree with that very statement you said.

Now back to the grave.

Later is better than broken. I'm still angry it took the geniuses at Activision over 6 months to fix their broken stuttering Black Ops engine.

I'm kinda glad when this happens. We get a better pc port than a console port with better textures.
