[Rumor] Battlefield Premium being developed to combat COD Elite

Through some unofficial, but “very reliable” sources Battlefieldo has discovered that EA is bringing a premium level of service to Battlefield 3. This development will also segue into an unannounced fifth DLC after the purported “End Game” DLC releases this Winter. Now the schedule for all your digital content in Battlefield 3 looks like this.

Close Quarters : June 12th
June 2012 : Guide
August 2012: Bonus Content
Fall 2012 : Armored Kill
Winter 2012 : End Game
March 2013 : 5th Expansion Pack (still untitled)

EA asking for more money after it was discovered that free server capacity was decreasing is kind of ballsy. Still who knows when the Premium Content will actually be available or how much it will cost. The source does have a few details regarding the Bonus Content. I'd rather buy many new games then spend a fortune getting a little bit of extra content for a game I like but don't love.

For all the talk by EA about wanting to kill CoD and its experience, they sure are copying a lot from it in terms of the business model.

That is it. Battlefield and Call of Duty were some of my favorite PC games but dammit......know they gone down the drain....YOU KNOW GUYS NINTENDO HAS BEEN MAKING MARIO SINCE BEFORE I WAS BORN AND THEY HAVEN'T FUCKED UP THIS BAD!

Soooo let me get this straight...

They cut the free servers despite having people pay extra for an online pass, charge $30 bucks a month for a rent server and now they want people to pay EVEN MORE "premium" DLC?! Has EA completely lost their marbles?!

If I could insert a "Contempt Costanza" pic here, I would... I pray somebody has the balls to boo this announcement should it occur at E3
