[Rumor] Could Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix be a upcoming Vita game?

3/16/13 1:02pm

We all know the next big Assassin’s Creed will be arriving this October with the release of the series’ latest installment; Black Flag. However, just like with AC3, Vita owners could possibly be getting an exclusive Assassin’s Creed spin-off this fall as a (now removed) retail listing for Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix was recently spotted.

Coming from Spanish online retailer, XtraLife, the image shows two mysterious hooded figures with logos for Abstergo Industries on their backs. Here take a look...

But this isn’t the first time a screenshot for Rising Phoenix has been leaked. Last week, All Games Beta spotted another image, which looks to be set in some sort of laboratory with Erudito Collective's logo in the background...

As of now publisher/developer Ubisoft has yet to confirm a new Assassin’s Creed game for Vita, while XtraLife slated the game for an October 10 release, which just happens to land three weeks prior to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag hitting store shelves.

But what do you think g1s? Do you think Rising Phoenix is bogus? Or is this a chance for the series to redeem itself on the Vita after the lackluster Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation? Let me know in the comments down below!

AC3:Liberation was a solid foundation for a good portable AC game. It was just blandly executed. I mean, the core mechanics were intact in that game which made me finish it in the long run, it just wasn't well designed in terms of missions and story. If they brush up their game and deliver a more refined game than liberation, I think this could very well work.

Personally I feel that Assassins Creed 3 was blandly executed.

Exactly my thoughts. I used the term "Lackluster" because I was disappointed in how the game felt overall. But, like you said, Liberation had a solid foundation, which means there's potential for a better AC game on Vita. Hopefully this "Rising Phoenix" will be that better game.

But how come Ubisoft Digital Arts would be making games instead of Ubisoft Euntertainments??? It doesn't make sense since Ubisoft Digital Arts is a movie company... I dunno, I'm a little bit confused there. But whatever we'll see whatever it is I guess.

" after the lackluster Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation" Did you even play the game? It was just as good as any AC game. Then again that isn't saying much but still.

Upcoming vita games exist? I thought they were urban myths, like yetis and unicorns.

Like the legendary Soul Sacrifice?

Upcoming vita games are almost as elusive as the mysterious upcoming Wii U game! Zing!
