[Rumor] Eternal Darkness 2 is cancelled before it is announced

At some point, the Internet went and got its hopes up that Silicon Knights might be working on its critically acclaimed IP Eternal Darkness. Prepare to have those hopes dashed before they come to fruition, because now there are rumors that this game is no more. After the stellar results of the Epic Lawsuit, Nintendo has apparently jumped ship on Silicon Knights.

Last week’s jury decision in favor of Epic leaves Silicon Knights owing 4.5 million dollars to the minds behind Unreal. A user on NeoGAF claims that “when Nintendo saw that they would need to pay an additional 10 million USD to have the company survive that develops the game; they didn’t seem to like it”. Too bad for Denis Dyack and crew, who at times might not make the greatest games, but can occasionally impress the masses.
