[Rumor] Final Fantasy Versus XIII is now Final Fantasy XV
If you've ever known me, you'll recall that there's one title I rag on about repeatedly, the elusive Final Fantasy Verus XIII. Current title holder for the longest development for any Final Fantasy game... and has yet to be released... Why?
Well if a recent by VG Leaks is to be believed (More on that in a moment), it's because two years ago, it was renamed Final Fantasy XV and Sony stepped up to co-develop it as a PS4 exclusive.
Also, it has Vita cross-play! Yay!
Now I'm just to come out and say it: As much as I'd like this to be true, there is next to no chance that any of this is true. Not only has this never happened to any Final Fantasy title before, but Square Enix showcased Final Fantasy: Agni Philosophy during their Sony PS4 conference, a time which if there ever was one, to show that this title still exists, especially since Sony is apparently co-developing the game. You know, the company whose releases of big name titles are so timely like how they just released the Last Guardi-oh wait!
Calm down Caz. Caz: This VG Leaks is about as ridiculous as this image! (And yes, I know the studio who is actually making The Last Guardian)
The only good thing I can think of is that if this is true, we might finally get a release date and Tetsuya Nomura can get to work on that damn The World Ends With You sequel he teased and Square Enix trolled us with.
Look at what you've done Square! Final Fantasy Versus XIII is hurting good games that need to be made. It makes me sad...
As you can guess, I'm just a pinch skeptical on this rumor. but hey, maybe it's just me, what do you think about this g1s? Real? Fake? Forget it?

I want SE to bring Type 0 over here along with actually bringing out Versus. I've been looking forward to both of those games ever since they were announced. I've loved the entire XIII set ever since it came out, and would love to play the rest of the games for this sub-series (Type 0, Versus, and Lightning Returns).

I personally love the XIII series but this game been in hiding and rumors for so long it feels like an urban legend, so when it happens it happens

Not really, the PS4 is probably going to to be coming out before or just after TGS. To the rest of the world, E3 is the time to shine, especially if it's a PS4 exclusive that Square promised to show more of at E3.

As much as the FFXIII game are disliked by the fans, I can't blame them for changing it into its own title instead of a XIII side story. That is provided they are even still going to finish the game.

I guess it would make sense that Versus XIII got changed into XV off the conception that when they started the whole 3 games for XIII cycle, people were more excited for Versus XIII than the official XIII. They may have figured that the game could stand on its own as an entry into the series instead of being a spinoff. But they've killed all the anticipation for it w/ teasing it, then nothing for years, then quietly cancelling it... so I'm not gonna raise my hopes up.

Let it die, maybe? I'm personally tired of hearing about Kingdom Hearts 3 and Versus 13. both are games that should of come out years ago but Square dosent know when to give up on older less succesfull IPs
