[Rumor] Mysterious document reveals Xbox 720, Kinect V2 for 2013 launch
A mysterious business document from 2010 (which is apparently linked to Microsoft) has been spreading across the Internet over the past 12 hours or so and it “reveals” some interesting things about the future of the Xbox brand. More specifically, it reveals a 2013 launch window for the 360’s successor (dubbed Xbox 720) and the successor of the Kinect (dubbed Kinect V2).
The 720’s system specs were also detailed which include: Blu-ray compatibility, AR Glasses, the ability to play games that look “4x - 6x" better than current 360 titles, and a $299 price tag. Although, the AR Glasses would be released post-launch in 2014.
But here’s the thing, the document itself doesn’t necessarily look the most legit (but it kinda resembles a textbook or a power point demo) and even if it is real, there’s a chance that Microsoft might have decided to go with a different business strategy since then. Besides that, the $299 asking price seems a bit on the cheap side for tech this fancy.
But for what it’s worth, the document does make mention of the Smartglass technology that took up so much of Microsoft’s E3 press time this year. So who knows? Maybe by the end of 2014, Xbox fans will be blasting hordes of Covenant troops, live in their own living rooms via AR supported Halo 5 death-match.
There's nothing on that page...
People, do not be confused, this info isn't from the magazine it's self, it's from a leak, so it's completely reasonable to believe that this is fake.
The thing is, it's not the issue of 56 pages being elaborate for a hoax, because this isn't from that, it's from a LEAK.
New Xbox in 2013 - Possible, if they announce it at the VGA's this year and show it off at E3 2013 that would give it more hype than the Wii U.
Name of next Xbox "Xbox 720:" - Unlikely, I know this is the name thats been thrown around to refer to the next Xbox but I think Microsoft is going to come up with something a little more clever.
AR Glassess - Anythings Possible. Seems far fetched but so did a 3D handheld.
4-6 x better looking than 360 - Hopefully, I would expect a graphical jump in the next hardware specs. Something that looks like whats been demoed for Unreal 4.
Overall - I think this is more of a wishlist from 360 fans or possibly even Microsoft themselves. I wouldnt be suprised if this rumer turnes out to be totally false.

Kinect V2... *facepalm*
They Should Work On The Name.
There is to much in this thst doesn't make good business sense. Hoax senses tingling!
god I hope the new Xbox isn't centered around motion controls + gimmicks.
well, 56 pages sure is very elaborate for a hoax^^ someone sure went through a lot of trouble to make that. im not really buying it though but a $300 price tag would be kinda cool. since many new devices flopped because of their initial prices (tablets, the 3DS and the vita to name a few) that is what i am mostly interested in right now. i usually dont buy a new console at launch but if the price is right i might give them a chance right away.
Hm... I don't buy it, but it's plausible. Let's assume it'll be out Holiday 2013. They'll announce it at next year's E3, steal the show, and top it off with "... and it'll be out this Holiday season." Makes sense, I guess. We'll see.
I don't buy it. If Microsoft wants to release a new console for 2013 they would've unveiled it at E3 this year. I just can't see that happening, unless they completely ignore the gaming press, and ship something really really incomplete and shitty just to make a launch window... though, this is Microsoft so... hmm
It sounds kinda fake but it would be hilarious if the new console was call the XboxUS.
It would be the biggest troll moment if their next console was called the "Xbox Revolution".
Unless Microsoft really wants to over-subsidize the console more than Sony does with their Playstation brand, the $299 price tag is way too low.
The stuff Epic Games is demanding for their Unreal 4 engine is hinting the next gen won't be cheap for consoles.
Sony really wouldn't have a say since they are only part of the Blu Ray group but they would get their share of royalties if Microsoft uses it.
I've always asked myself, why are video games now aday wants you to get off the couch and play. if we did, we would've gone outside.
The only console I'll be getting next gen is the one that doesn't focus on Motion Control, I play games to relax, Sit down and relax, that's all... Not dance in front of my TV...
Also, I don't want to wear fucking glasses to play Halo
If this is real, it's a bit much, I don't want to be IN my games, I want to sit on my couch and play them, again, the Wii U is looking like the only system i'll need this gen.
