[Rumor] Mysterious document reveals Xbox 720, Kinect V2 for 2013 launch

A mysterious business document from 2010 (which is apparently linked to Microsoft) has been spreading across the Internet over the past 12 hours or so and it “reveals” some interesting things about the future of the Xbox brand. More specifically, it reveals a 2013 launch window for the 360’s successor (dubbed Xbox 720) and the successor of the Kinect (dubbed Kinect V2).

The 720’s system specs were also detailed which include: Blu-ray compatibility, AR Glasses, the ability to play games that look “4x - 6x" better than current 360 titles, and a $299 price tag. Although, the AR Glasses would be released post-launch in 2014.

But here’s the thing, the document itself doesn’t necessarily look the most legit (but it kinda resembles a textbook or a power point demo) and even if it is real, there’s a chance that Microsoft might have decided to go with a different business strategy since then. Besides that, the $299 asking price seems a bit on the cheap side for tech this fancy.

But for what it’s worth, the document does make mention of the Smartglass technology that took up so much of Microsoft’s E3 press time this year. So who knows? Maybe by the end of 2014, Xbox fans will be blasting hordes of Covenant troops, live in their own living rooms via AR supported Halo 5 death-match.
