[Rumor] Prequel to Star Wars Battlefront III in development, but may never be released

According to sources close to Kotaku, an unannounced Star Wars game that started to show up last year in several listings was leaked to still be in development and would be called Star Wars First Assault.

According to some rumored details, First Assault would act as a prequel to Star Wars Battlefront III, support up to 16 players for online, and would be a downloadable title. The game itself would only be a prequel for timeline purposes and not actually be directly connected to a potential Battlefront III game.

"The game is supposed to lead up to Battlefront III, but according to Kotaku, this new Battlefront III would use nothing from the Battlefront III that has already been in production at studios like Free Radical and Slant Six... First Assault also has no Jedi or vehicles, which explains its lack of the word "Battlefront" anywhere in the title."

There is a big catch though involving the game may end up not getting released due to the current problems facing LucasArts. Although it was also rumored if the game is ever released and sells well, Disney and/or LucasArts would lean favorably for Star Wars Battlefront III being the next Star Wars game developed.

Not to judge a book by it's cover but the screenshot kind of reminds me of a revamped republic commando. Just a thought.

If the sales of this game will allow Battlefront 3 to finally be made, so be it. My bank account is ready for the sacrifice

Give us something from the Legacy era. Or Dark Nest Crisis. Or Yuuzhan Vong War. Or Rakatan Infinite Empire. Or Hundred Year Darkness. Or Nagai-Tof War. Or Second Galactic Civil War. Or Mandalorian Wars. Or Great Hyperspace War. Or during the Thrawn Crisis. Or Unification Wars. Or the Old Sith Wars. Or Operation Shadow Hand. Or the Swarm War.

In other words: GIVE US SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T TAKE PLACE IN THE MOVIES OR BETWEEN!!!
