[Rumor] Shin'en Multimedia might be working a new F-Zero Wii U game?
Just a few days ago, a fan of Nintendo name Niels, or Rayquaza3010, posted a comment on Shin'en Multimedia's Twitter, the same company who did Nano Assault Neo for Wii U eShop. His request is that he wants the company and Nintendo want to make a new F-Zero game for Wii U.
And just days later, they replied that they have something in the works. Could this be a new F-Zero game that a fan wanted for Wii U? Even though it's unconfirmed of what the game is, but we will find out later this year. So if this game turns out to be a new F-Zero game, will you buy it?
Nintendo, I will buy a Wii U just for this game.
If you want money, make this happen.
If this is true that means a few things: 1) a lot of people are going to buy a Wii U; 2) that means that Retro Studios isn't making it, which could indicate them making a new Star Fox since they said their project is something that fans have been wanting.
Hope F-Zero does get a new entry, even if it isn't by these developers, as it would make the WiiU seem more enticing for me.
doubt your the only one.
Absolutely. If it were F-Zero, Nintendo would be publishing it regardless of who they had to help out on development duties and Shin'en would be NDA'ed up to the eyeballs that would arguably make them more conspicious by their lack of talking on the matter.
Going from FAST, a 40mb WiiWare production to a full blown F-Zero game developed from scratch to deliver with the online component as well would not be a quick task and given their small size and relatively heavy release schedule of multiple versions of Nano Assault and the new Jett Rocket game, an new version of FAST seems a much more realistic proposition than a new F-Zero.
Not that I was particualrly taken by FAST though - control felt more Wipeout than F-Zero and I really don't like Wipeout's vehicle physics model.
They do have an IP of their own that is a lot like F-zero that got very well-received (I'm not sure about sales though). It's called Fast - Racing League. It was on Wiiware.
Old news again, but I shouldn't nitpick. Just an update, it seems shin'en's mulitmedia said that their new Wii U game will have online http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/04/one_of_shinens_forthcoming_wii_... . Oh, and Shin'en Multimedia also made a game on Wiiware called Fast - Racing League http://www.nintendolife.com/reviews/2011/06/fast_racing_league It's very F-zero-ish.
Sounds great, but I'm still a tad suspicious at how open they're being as well as Miyamoto saying last year his surprise at people wanting a sequel.
Just an update, it seems that Shin'en Multimedia are currently making 2 Wii U games https://twitter.com/ShinenGames/status/326602981304844288. Fingers crossed.
If this proves to be true, Nintendo just sold me a Wii U.
It could very well be one of their own games, but if it's true then OMG YES!! Also, F-Zero GX's 10th anniversary is coming up, so I wouldn't be suprised if we'll see a reveal at E3 or something.
Any gamer would be too glad to know about these two multimedia companies that are throwing stones at each other without them knowing it. - Michael Courouleau
Oh god oh god !!!!!
He's probably speaking in internet time.
Not to sound like a pessimist but I think Shin'en might just be referring to one of their own Wii U projects.
Multimedia might be the greatest troll of a company since Kojima Productions.
Or it could be true... I guess.
OH GOD I hoped it plays similar to f zero GX
That I'd definitely buy.
Wonder how fast the cars will go this time.
Then remake Double Dash in the same fashion, then Kirby Air Ride, then Melee, then call Capcom with their fighting game oversaturation to the Wii U.
