[Rumor] Sony is awarding long-time PlayStation fans $10 over PSN
It is rare for customer loyalty rewards to go unnoticed, but somehow Sony has kept their recent promotion a secret from everyone. North American PlayStation users are reporting that many have received a free $10 voucher for being loyal to the service.
Others state that they are receiving $5 vouchers. Free money is free money either way, but it doesn’t seem to be arriving for PSN users in Europe or Asia at this time. Any g1s out there find some extra money in their PSN wallet this morning?

Nope, nothing for me, but I don't have P+. Doesn't really matter much to me though, I barely use my PS3 anymore.

Got the news and checked my account. Sure enough, I got my $10 code. Awesome.
I've never really been a PS-Plus member (save for that one time they gave me a trial) and I never got the PS3 on launch day. However, I've been using the same account since the first time I hooked up my PS3s (I've gone through a few over the years :p), something that most of my family or friends can't claim, so if they're only giving these codes to "loyal fans", they're probably going on that.

Let's see. Bought PS3 launch day, paid 1600 dollars worth of games, played over 1000 hours on my PS3, and I've got about 12 Platinums. Do I get money? NO! All that was left was subscribe to Playstation Plus!!! Literally, that's ALL THAT WAS LEFT!!! I tried PS+ for about 3 months, wasn't for me. If PS+ was the thing that gave you money, then fine, but don't say that the money is for "loyal fans" when people who've had their PS3 since the beginning, and played hours on them, and they don't get money.

I should've clarified that last bit. I've been using the same PSN account for years. I have family and friends who have made several accounts because they've failed to remember the login to their last account.
However, judging by your track record (you've used PS+ longer than me, for starters), I'm going to assume you've also been using the very same account since you first logged on to the PSN. If that's the case, I'm at a loss. So far, there doesn't seem to be a solid method as to how they're selecting these people. For all we know, they're pulling names out of a basket.

Yeah it seems hyper random. I've had my PS3 since 2011, but have had my PSP since 2009 (that's when I made my account). I have 10 PSN games (5 PS3, 5 PSP) + 4 PSone classics. I have like 10 PS3 disc games. I've bought some DLC on PSP, and got an ass ton when I bought the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Box... Ehh I have voted on their Awards thing and DL some free PS theme on their 15th anniversay? Hell if I know how they picked. Out of a hat seems the most plausible right now.

I've spent probably around $1000 through PSN. I haven't got anything yet, fingers are crossed!
