[Rumor] Sony might be making Uncharted 3 multiplayer free-to-play
During a routine PlayStation Blog update known as “The Drop”, it looks like Sony might have let slip the fact that one of their beloved franchises may be going free-to-play. It looks like the post was rather quickly edited, but commentors noted that Uncharted 3’s multiplayer will be coming free to PlayStation Plus subscribers. With the post being redacted there isn’t much else to say at this time, but this doesn’t seem uncommon based on past business practices.
If you look at what PlayStation did with Killzone 3’s multiplayer last year, this won’t be a first. And with Sony supporting other free-to-play games like Dust 514 and Phantasy Star Online 2, it seems likely they will continue this practice. The redaction might point to this being delayed, but if it is happening, I’m sure we’ll have some more information soon.
