[Rumor] Sony registers Sony All-Stars Battle Royale domain name
Rumors about a Smash Bros. style fighter staring Sony exclusive characters, have been spreading across the Internet since last November and it seems that about 6 months later, those rumors may have finally been proven true.
According to the folks over at PlayStation Lifestyle, Sony has indeed filed a domain name for Sony All-Stars Battle Royale, which is rumored to be under development at SuperBot Entertainment.
If the domain is legit (which it very likely could be), this might be the big Sony exclusive that's set to show off its world premiere trailer on Game Trailers TV this coming Thursday.
However, since we have yet to hear official word from Sony about this game being an actual product, we'll just play it safe and keep the "rumor" label on it for just a little bit longer.

The thing that made SSBB so successful was because everyone knew who the characters were, including the non-gaming crowd. I think Sony has bitten off more than they can chew with this one. I can't really name one character that really is recognizable to non-gamers beyond Sackboy, Kratos, or Nathan Drake. If Sony can pull it off, it would be amazing, but I kind of doubt it would succeed beyond the hardcore PlayStation crowd. The only way I can see they could possibly bring in non-hardcore audiences is if the bring in third-party characters as well.

Bull. I know people who have played Smash for years who have no clue who Samus or Kirby are outside those games.
Oh, and to quote a pretty serious gamer, "Who the fuck is Marth and why is unlocking him considered an achievement?"
