[Rumor] TimeSplitters 4 seen running
Official Xbox Magazine claims that they had the opportunity to see the cancelled TimeSplitters 4 in action. This information was disclosed in their latest issue, but it doesn’t mean we will ever get to play it. The game has been in development since Free Radical entered bankruptcy in 2008, but was presumed dead after that.
Some have speculated that it would be getting an E3 2012 reveal since last summer, but who knows. Maybe this is further confirmation that it will happen or just more fodder for the fire. The same source did also state that “If we do get a proper sequel, we’re likely to see the old games appear, too”.
That is a first, so maybe we will get lucky and see a resurgence of this cult-classic FPS. Free Radical became Crytek UK post-bankruptcy and is known to be working on Homefront 2 and most recently the Multiplayer in Crysis 2. Their bankruptcy is most likely attributed to the lackluster Haze and cancellation of Star Wars: Battlefront III.
