It’s been a few months since Nintendo announced a new 3D Mario title for the Wii U, which will be officially unveiled at E3. While this is the only information the “Big N” revealed about it in a public capacity, someone from within the company may have let the mystery game’s release window slip to the press.
An “inside source” has told CVG
that pending any development delays, the next 3D installment in the Mario franchise could launch in October or possibly even sooner.
This game is also said to be one of a few blockbuster Wii U titles to be hitting retail outlets between this summer and holiday season, which also includes Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, Wonderful101, and presumably the next Mario Kart (also set to debut at E3). Whether or not more games are on this list remains to be seen but I think we can expect a surprise or two.
News of a brand new 3D Mario is bound to excite Nintendo fans and maybe it and the line-up of other first-party games will be enough to boost the Wii U’s sales projections.
What do you think g1s? Are any of you excited for a new 3D Mario?
