[Rumor] Wii U is coming to America, before Japan?!
NA launch date "set" for November 18th, with Japan getting it a week later.
Acording to an e-mail that Wii U Daily had access to, the Nintendo Wii U should see the light of day in stores across North America on November 18th, with Japan getting the console about a week later.
The e-mail seems to come from Akihabara-based Media Land, a very popular video game shop in Tokyo, and it seems it circulated the store's staff. Of course, this report does not confirm that Nintendo already has the date set in stone and, of course, only by E3 can we have official confirmation.
It should be noted that Nintendo has picked the date of their home console launches for the last few generations around this date (in NA), with the Gamecube being released on the same day 11 years ago and the Wii on November 19th 2006 so it wouldn't a big surprise if this date was confirmed to be the official one.
I actually wouldn't be TOO surprised by this actually...
The main thing I'm wondering is what the official cost of the system will be.
Same here, although I initially started out mainly buying games for the Wii, I eventually dipped into the 360 library. Both are around the same size now but with the Wii U coming out, I'll probably not buy as many games for the 360 anymore, heck I already preordered Assassin's Creed 3 for the Wii U.
Rumors are rumors
According to the controller specs that have been known for a while, yeah, the main controller does have a rumble function (alongside a billion other things it seems).
Actually they are saying the Wii U is "on par" with the XB360 and PS3: It even says that in your link title.
Who knows? North America is the biggest gaming in the world.
I'm just wondering if this thing has vibration cause ya know EVERYTHING NEEDS IT.
Nintendo can wow me with the new system at E3 by first starting with the much rumored name change. Seriously, I love Nintendo as much as the next guy, but "Wii U" is just an absolutely awful name
I doubt this will get released in NA before Japan I mean Nintendo's main market is Japan, to release something that the Japanese don't get first is kinda, double crossing the fans and consumers...
Called it a while ago, http://www.screwattack.com/news/predicting-north-american-wii-us-release...
let's see if I'm right.
Most likely untrue considering other developers have already stated its more powerful than the PS3 and Xbox 360. Others also said unlike the PS3 and Xbox 360, it handles 1080 as a standard resolution and doesn't need upscaling like the Xbox 360 and PS3.
Although I'm more of a "games are what make me buy a console" guy, thus finding this rumors and speculation about WiiU's power rather silly, I do have to say that I would be VERY surprised if the console itself wasn't even to par in graphical power to the current ones. Especially with all the revisions already made to the hardware due to input from various top developing companies.
We have also heard that is't from an anonymous source disclosed to a non-reputable website and provide no technical spec besides "shader doesn't run as fast." So I would take that news with a lot of salt.
I HIGHLY doubt that's the case. There's a chance it might not be far more powerful than the PS3, but it'd be pretty stupid for the Wii U to be less powerful than the 360.
Go for it. =)
Mind if I use that for an article?
Has everyone heard that several developers say the WiiU is even less powerful than an Xbox 360? Sad if it is true. Here is the link: http://www.theverge.com/2012/4/3/2922974/wii-u-graphics-on-par-ps3-xbox-...
yay im getting it opening day
i do believe they're using us americans as guinea pigs hahaha.
