[Rumor] The Wii U could be an e-reader

According to a dude that knows a dude, the Wii U controller might make itself into an e-reader. Since we have already seen speculation that the Wii U eShop might offer more than just games, this actually seems fairly reasonable. The 3DS might in fact share this service in the future as well.
It seems like another market that Nintendo may be trying to find a way into. With the various Android, Apple, and Kindle e-readers already available, the market certainly boasts some stiff competition. Now if only Nintendo would comment on rumor and speculation. I guess we will all have to wait until E3.

Why can't game companies get some focus, you're supposed to make game systems. Stop watering down the experience with gimmicks and "value added" features. Focus people, FOCUS!

I have a Kindle and I seem to be one of the few people who likes the fact that all you can do with it is *read*. It doesn't let me go on the internet, it doesn't let me download music or flip through colour comics... it just lets me read a book quietly, in peace and with no distractions. Isn't that what an e-reader is designed to do?

Their next news release will probably be something along the lines of "The Wii-U can call your parents and friends", then "It can contact the dead!".
But we'll never hear whether or not it can actually play real games, and not just tech demos.

Nintendo is trying to make the wii u be the big entertainment device in the living room. well, i can't play DVDs, so i don't think so. the controller is going to be horrid, if it was 4 inches that would be ok but it is 6.

Ok... I understand why Nintendo wants to fight Apple and Kindle with its new console, but I'm starting to feel Nintendo is biting off more than they can chew. I know its a rumor... but if all of this is fake, fine. If is real... *sigh*
