[Rumor] Wii U gets dated and priced by an Amazon distributor
Without any official details regarding the release date and price of Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U, the Internet continues to dig for evidence. The most recent find comes from the supplier for Amazon.com, Video Product Distributors, who has posted the release date and pricing for each upcoming Wii U SKU. Although we don’t know what the difference is, take notice that there are three SKUs listed…
- WIIU SYSTEM – GM – 11/11/12 $249.99
- WIIU SYSTEM W/ – GM – 11/11/12 $299.99
- WIIU SYSTEM 349 W/ – GM – 11/11/12 $349.99
With $50 being the difference between each SKU, it could be only a slight upgrade between each system. Maybe one includes a game and another has additional hard drive space, but we won’t be sure until the official reveal. Since you need to username and password to access VPD’s database, here is a video courtesy of H0undd0gg.

Be patient my friend, on the 13th we will find out.
No, they said you can use an external hard drive (but it doesn't have to be proprietary), but they said the Wii U doesn't have an internal hard drive - only flash memory (which could be upgraded, provided you can solder, I guess).
It's pretty ridiculous that this is supposed to be coming out this year and there's still no release date.
Chill out man...
I'm just saying that Nintendo's website clearly states no hard drive, only flash memories with the option of external usb storage devices and sd cards. My objection is to the "hard drive" part not that it can have some form of additional storage. ugh.
...this happens when I come like once a week here...
About what was to be expected price wise.
I think they also confirmed a while ago its also set up like the PS3 where any harddrive can be swapped in and out unlike with the Xbox 360 needing Microsoft branded ones.
I believe Nintendo said it'll have internal flash memory, like the Wii and the hard drive-less Xbox 360 S. So you were close enough, Sean. Although why Nintendo wouldn't just put a hard drive in it is beyond me. Those things are so cheap these days.
That would make sense. It sounds like a pretty good guess!!
Those three prices listed are the prices I expect when it releases.
...No...not that stupid. lol The tablet is the selling point of the system. You can't play most of the games without it.
Considering most of the features use the tablet and the tablet is the major selling point and the tablet is its main controller... I think it's safe to assume all potential bundles will come with a tablet.
Well sony sent out a update that killed most fat ps3s.
I just don't like there costumer service , the 360 is great and they have the best online, I just don't like talking to the people who run it. My 360 just stopped working it didn't RROD or anything, and I called them and they told me 350 to send it and get it fixed, i just bought another one to save the 50 dollars (this was when the used ones cost $300). Unlike Nintendo who fixed my Wii for free. I haven't had a problem with Sony, but if I did I would be there with you.
Why bash MS? They are the best!
Nintendo and other companies have done stupid things like that before
so in about 9 months to a year it will be an impulse buy
Obviously the first one would have the tablet with it that's the main point of the WiiU why would they sell the console and controller seperetly.
i'm american and i bash Microsoft, i should have said most Americans
I'm american I only bash sony. Not to say I don't have a reason.
