Everybody, their mother and their cousin twice-removed that you only get to see at Christmas knows that a new Smash Bros. game is coming, but so far, Nintendo has been pretty skimpy with the details. While that hasn't exactly changed, we now at least know that the man in charge, Sora Sakurai, is finally shifting his attention away from Kid Icarus: Uprising and back towards the insanely popular inhouse brawler franchise.

In a Tweet, Mr. Sakurai mentioned that he's been looking over Smash Brothers DOJO (the Japanese website that served as a showcase for new characters and features during the development of Brawl) and wondered..."It's tremendous. How did we manage to make this?," referring to the 2008 Wii game.

Not much to go on for sure, but with such an anticipated game the world stops turning for a fraction of a second every time Mr. Sakurai even thinks about Smash Brothers. And with work on Kid Icarus wrapped up, it seems like it's finally time to rev up that hype machine again as he shifts his attention back to Nintendo's biggest franchise. Good luck Mr. Sakurai, feel free to kick our asses all over again.
