Namco, SEGA, and Capcom have finally announced their 3DS crossover game.
Entitled Project X Zone (pronounced "Project Cross Zone"), the game is a strategy RPG game featuring an all-star cast from each of the three companies' already impressive rosters. The gameplay will consist of pairing these characters up with one another and taking them into combat.
Here's the confirmed roster thus far:
- Ryu & Ken (Street Fighter)
- X and Zero (Mega Man)
- Demitri and Dante (Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry)
- Chris and Jill (Resident Evil)
- Shinguji Sakura and Ogami Ichiro (Sakura Wars)
- Pai and Akira (Virtua Fighter)
- Kurt and Riela (Valkyria Chronicles)
- Ulala and Touma (Space Channel 5 and Shining Force EXA)
- Sanger Somvold (Super Robot Wars)
- Jin and Ling Xiaoyu (Tekken)
- Kos-Mos and T-elos (Xenosaga)
- Yurie and Estel (Tales of Vesperia)
- Kaito and Black Rose (.hack)
A trailer will be released at the end of this month.
Is anybody else really excited about this? Post a comment below with your thoughts.
Okay, cool beans.
I'm sure Sonic will make the final cut. The full roster hasn't been released yet.
lol The Titled Character Mega Man doesn't even get to be played. They must really like burying such a great mascot.
*Sonic & Knuckles
Even Sanger has his name wrong.
Whoa! No Sonic or Shenmue? Hmmm, well okay. I really hope this comes to American shores because I was really disappointed when I found out that Namco X Capcom was Japan only. But a three way crossover? Freaking awesome!
Look, they even spell Kite's name wrong, so I'm not suprised.
looks like there trying to cash in on stupid people by selling a cellphone game at $40
Yeah, but considering that it's Namco Bandai who's making it, it's more likely that they (Namco Bandai/Banpresto) negociated a good deal to Capcom so they could have X on the game. I mean, Banpresto can deal with a HUGE assortment of anime studios so they can have all those mechas come together in SRW games, this wouldn't be much of a negotiation for them. It's all profit for the Capcom side, so they don't care about which Mega Man is used.
Capcom would have had to say something to let X come in? Right?
I would have expected Sonic to be SEGA's first candidate for their part.
Heeeeyyyyyeee Mega man is a live!
I wonder if there is going to be more characters in this game... maybe later they will reveal some more characters (playable or as a NPC) in the future...
Just waiting for the announcement of Sonic and Shadow as a team.
omg, every site I've seen (next to the one I write for) spelled "Yuri" and "Estelle"/"Estellise" wrong xD
Please let Ryo Hazuki be in the game.
I wasn't using Sonic's appearance in the game as a means to measure quality (where did I say that?), I was simply implying that having a more recognizable cast of characters makes it easier to market the game to possible consumers because it's a well recognized franchise(s). Nothing more.
SO EXCITED! Dante is back again :) and it gives me another reason to get a 3DS
Sega needs to put in Hazuki Ryo and Kiryu Kazuma.
Let's not use the appearance of Sonic as in indicator for the game's quality. Sonic has been given enough attention lately and there's obviously Sonic 4 Episode 2/Metal on the way. There's already a crapload of complaints on the internet about SEGA pumping out too much Sonic content. Let's just wait and see, so far I've nothing negative to say about their choice of characters for this crossover.
