SEGA says future remakes depend on what the fans want
SEGA Corporation will decide what to remake depending on what the fans want.
SEGA research and development producer Yosuke Okunari said today's technology allows for games to be recreated in ways development originally intended but couldn't. Sega wants to work on remakes, but the company wants to hear what fans want.
Okunari explained the company's new remake and 3D remake projects are entirely different from virtual console releases. New rules and functions were added, he said.
3D Altered Beast, 3D Galaxy Force II, 3D Ecco the Dolphin, 3D Shinobi III, 3D Sonic the Hedgehog, 3D Space Harrier, 3D Streets of Rage and 3D Super Hang On have all been announced for European markets, but there is no time or date to when these titles will come to North America.
Is there a specific SEGA game you would like to see remade? Perhaps Vectorman?

This most definitely this, especially since my Gamecube died and I can't play it anymore.
Panzer Dragoon, although since it's a Sega Saturn game, it might be too advanced for a 3D remake.
For Knuckles Chaotix, Sega should have Whitehead do it. He did a great job with Sonic CD on XBLA as well as the iOS ports of Sonic 1 and, eventually, 2.
The Master System is underated. Why not remake so of the games for like Phantasy Star, Golden Axe Warrior, After Burner, Alex Kidd, and the game that tops the Genesis version in music, in my opinion, Sonic the Hedgehog 1.(The Game Gear version has screen crunch issues)
Hmm I thought this was for any sega game to get a remake for all current or next gen systems.
I don't really care for 3D stereoscopic games but if they need to do a remake (not reboot but I won't stop them if they do)
Remake Shining Force 1 and 2. Streets of Rage, Altered Beast.
I can think of a few, but there are four in particular I really like to see back in a remake
4)Streets of Rage: I can remember playing this when I was a kid and enjoy it. Even now when I am not too much into action games anymore I still find myself go and play this sometimes.
3)Phantasy Star: This was put in four because I would say the games now are still good on their old classic formats. I would say I wouldn't mind to be some bit of a remake and, hell, maybe make a part 5 that isn't in the PSO format(if there has been, bring it to the US then please)
2)Skies of Arcadia: I remember buying this game and absolutely love it, but was saddened I never saw more of it. Remake this, and maybe make more of it as well.
1) Shining Force: Where do I begin. I remember playing the first game as a rental and was just consumed by it. Even had a few late fees and incurring my mother's wrath for being it late a few times, followed by asking to rent it again because I wanted to finish it.. Part two was worse. But most of all, there is Shining force 3. I own part one, and am still trying to find a copy of the premium disk or the other two parts and somehow get them translated. To me, having a remake of this series, and especially bringing a complete version of Shining Force 3 would make many old gamers happy.
There are a lot of Sega Franchises that are begging to be remade, but to be honest do you really think SEGA is actually going to listen to its US/EU fan base ? They can't even keep their own IP's up to date as it is.
From what I've seen of Sega in the past year or so they they have done nothing but release crappy/buggy games that are rushed out just to make a quick buck. They announced Phantasy Star Online 2 for western release at P.A.X. last year and since then they have said nothing on their own PSO2 site or their PSO2 Facebook page.
I used to be a big fan of Sega and to be honest since they stopped making their own consoles, they have slowly but surely lost the ability to make decent games.
Oh before I forget to mention... If you haven't noticed as of late what Sega Japan do and say and what Sega US/EU say are two different things. If Sega Japan made this announcement you can almost guaranteed that it will be aimed its Japanese fan base not the western players.
Streets of Rage and Knuckles Chaotix
HD remakes of all 5 Sakura Wars games, please and thank you.
ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl ToeJam and Earl (Repeat to Infinity)
Skies of Arcadia, it must be done!
The remakes of Phantasy Star games would be really nice for the western fanbase. Too bad they can never decide on a set time or even care for anyone that does enjoy the series. Maybe they'll have a change of heart.
Reunite the old team with Nintendo and bring back F-Zero GX in HD!
shinobi, golden axe. streets of rage
If it's for the 3DS, personally I would think the original Phantasy Star could provide some unique effects given how you tackle dungeons.
Ristar! I want Ristar to make a comeback!
Really then were is the Shenmue HD collection they promised us and Skies of Arcadia
Ristar needs some more love. Crazy Taxi is always fun to play for me. Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, Guardian Heroes, Shining Force, Skies of Arcadia, ... I can keep going with this :P
Burning Rangers, Vector Man, Golden Axe, Ristar, the list can go on!
