Seth Killian joins Sony and Santa Monica Studios

Seth Killian has announced on the Playstation Blog that he now works at Santa Monica Studios where he is a lead game designer.
Here is a snippet of what he had to say:
"A few of you may know me as a familiar face in the world of fighting games, but I’m writing today to say that I’ve joined Sony as the lead game designer for the external group at the Sony’s Santa Monica Studio. I was excited to join Santa Monica Studio in particular because of the chance to work with some great individuals, but also because of the incredible range of projects they take on."
With Playstation and Seth joining at Evo, this is very exciting. I know I will be there. And from everyone who cares, congrats Seth. Glad to see you happy and good luck to All-Stars Battle Royale.

I buy almost EVERY game that comes out. $60 a pop don't talk to me about losing money. I spend $800 on my first PS3. And i own a NES,SNES,N64,GC and a Wii don't u dare call me a fanboy.

Losing money, son I lost a $4000 (after taxes) bonus check because of Sony's marketing and failure to deliver quality software at the launch of the PS3. After the grey market of selling the units on ebay faded away 6 out of every 10 PS3 bundles my store sold were return for a full refund by ebay scalpers and I had to just sit there and take it. I was up on the year, but not on the quarter and that cost me that phat check, so you don't lecture me on losing money.

WOW Really? your bitching because Sony didn't have any software at launch? Sony didn't make u lose anything it was the people who wanted a refund. Unless im missing something in this story the only people who you can blame are the people who fall for Sony's marketing. Everyone i talked to knew that the launch software sucked. I don't honestly know what's more sad, someone falling back to the "internet anonymity" defense or the fact you have to bring up Nazi's (proper noun, needs to be UPPER case not lower case) when it comes to grammar. If they aren't dying then why did Seth leave. And you still haven't answered my question. How is it a waste? It would only be a waste if they didn't use him. So again. How is it a waste. If you don't like Sony, okay, but don't say that Seth is being wasted. Don't get me wrong I would have liked for him to work with another 3rd party company as apposed to only working on one company's platform. But this isn't a waste.

A smarter move would have been to go to EA or Activision, companies with a big reach over a variety of platforms where he would be needed. Going 1st party locks you in, and Sony has a rather famous non-compete contract if you decide to leave.
