Shigeru Miyamoto given Prince of Asturias award

Shigeru Miyamoto known for the Video game creations of Donkey Kong, Mario, Zelda, F-zero, Star Fox and Pikmin was Awarded The Prince of Asturias Award for Communication and Humanities for his contributions to the Video game industry through his iconic (and lovable) characters.

Previous winners of this Category come from Google for making research and information easy and instantly, and National geographic for its history in exploring and discovering the Earth through Photography.

For those of you wondering, the Prince of Asturias Awards is a series of annual prizes awarded in Spain by the Prince of Asturias Foundation to individuals. There are several categories Including Arts, Literature, SPORTS!, and more.
