Yeah I figured that out all too late, the final blow must be dealt by the sword and not the poison itself. If you're referring to the muskets, I would have given that it a look but from what I saw (since I never tried it) it replaced your current weapon in hand. That I didn't think was going to be worth it since I didn't know how often those musket wielding baddies were going to be around since the sling shot guys were not in every stage too.

Not talking about the muskets. I was referring to melee weapons that deal fire damage.

Wow, I'm still in this? OK, time for the next round. I may have been highest in group 4 times running this tournament, but there's always someone who's better. Can't get cocky.
